Video lessons
How a video becomes a lesson, what happens during processing and how you see that it finished.
Upload and keep working
You pick the file and carry on. Processing runs in the background, not in your browser window — that is the difference between “I wait ten minutes at a progress bar” and “I create the next lesson”.
What comes out of it
The raw file yields the playable version, a poster image and the extracted duration. The duration feeds the course length, the poster the lesson list.
The state is visible
A lesson still processing says so. It says so because a lesson that looks finished and plays nothing is worse than one that honestly reports “not yet”.
Limits
The permitted file size depends on your server, not on Lyceum — the limit is read from the server configuration before the upload and shown, instead of letting you run into an error after twenty minutes.
