You invite new people by email; they set their own password at first login. No one has to assign credentials by hand or send them insecurely by email.
Control access
You edit existing users, give them roles, reset a password if needed, resend an invitation or deactivate access — for instance when someone leaves the team. So it stays clear and secure at all times who has access.
