Code ownership
The code belongs to you
With a web app you get full code ownership: the repository with all your app's source code belongs to you. No lock-in, no dependence on a single service provider β the substance of your software is and stays yours.
What that means concretely
You could in theory have the app developed further by another team at any time, or take it over internally. The code is cleanly structured, versioned and safely kept in a repository β not trapped on a freelancer's laptop. That's independence in practice, not just a promise.
The difference to SaaS
With rental software (SaaS) you rent access β when the relationship ends, everything is gone. With your web app you own the system. You're not at the mercy of a provider's roadmap, pricing policy or continued existence.
Fairly classified
Your individual app belongs entirely to you. General, reusable building blocks and the studio's framework know-how stay with the studio β that doesn't touch your ownership of your own app. The exact rights are governed by the contract, transparently and in advance.
