Roles & permissions
Everyone may do exactly the right thing
Rarely should everyone be allowed to do everything. Synapse comes with clearly graded roles, from full access to read-only:
- Super Admin — manages the system technically (structure, access).
- Admin — the editorial lead: users, media, all content.
- Clerk — creates and edits content; ideal for editors.
- Press / Guest — restricted access for externals or guest authors.
- Viewer — may only read, change nothing.
Finely controllable per area
For each content area you can individually define who may create, edit, delete or publish there. So each person has exactly the rights they need — no more. You can also create custom roles.
Why this matters
Clear permissions prevent mishaps (someone accidentally deletes the home page) and create the confidence to involve external staff without opening everything to them. Security becomes manageable, even as the team grows.
