Taxonomies
Bring order to your content
Taxonomies are predefined keyword lists with which you classify content — such as categories, topics or regions. Unlike freely typed keywords (where “car”, “cars” and “automobile” quickly end up side by side), taxonomy terms are cleanly defined and maintained.
What it's good for
Clean terms make for clean filters on your website — “show me all posts in category X” works reliably. And within the team everyone classifies the same way, instead of a wild keyword cloud forming.
In everyday use
You maintain the terms in one central place and assign them when creating content by selection. If a term changes, you adjust it once — and it's updated everywhere. That keeps large amounts of content consistent over the years.
