Update 1.42: Importing spreadsheets, reshaping structure, Mesa
Updated
Excel spreadsheets come in without detours, and fields, collections and tag lists can be reshaped without losing values.
New:
Excel files as they are:
The import reads CSV files from German Excel with semicolons and umlauts, and matches columns by the field name in any language. A template with the collection's field names is ready to download.
Fix things before importing:
Every row can be edited before the import, and your changes stay until you deliberately discard them. Empty Excel rows no longer become entries, an empty or unreadable file says so, and the success message names how many entries were created and in which collection.
Renaming takes the values along:
When a field gets a new short name, entries, drafts, trash and history move with it. When you rename a collection, open approval requests, saved views and access keys limited to it follow.
Deleting a field with the consequences in view:
The dialogue names how many entries hold values in this field and offers to remove them at the same time. If you keep them, they stay safe and visible in the editor but are no longer sent to the website.
Defaults on every route:
A field with a default value now gets it on import, when copied and from connected systems too, not only in the editor. A field's condition and default value can also be removed again.
Tag lists for the whole space:
A tag list now belongs to the space instead of a single collection, and several collections share it. The manager shows where a list is used, deleting and merging name the entries affected, and your website learns of every change at once.
