Orders & refunds: Lyceum
Updated
What an order records, what a refund does to access, and why two amounts are shown.
The order is the memory
It records what was bought, at what price and when, as of then, not as of today. If the price changes later or an offer leaves the catalogue, the order stays readable.
Two amounts when they diverge
After a partial refund the list shows both: what was originally bought and what remains. Showing only the purchase amount would be the wrong figure for accounting; showing only the remainder blurs what happened.
Refund and access
A refund is a decision about money. What happens to access is your call. Both are visible in the backoffice so nobody has to guess whether a refunded buyer can still learn.
What you do here day to day
Check whether a payment arrived, supply an invoice, trace a dispute. The list is built for that, not as a revenue chart but as a reference.
