Update 1.38: Pages from your website's building blocks, Mesa
Updated
The new page builder assembles pages from the sections your website knows, and its preview already shows what you are typing.
New:
Building blocks from your website:
Your website tells Mesa which sections it knows, each with its variants and a preview image. You review changes, adopt them and can undo any adoption; a block that pages still use is kept.
Assemble by click or drag:
A gallery with your website's images sits to the right of the form. A section lands at the chosen spot with a click or anywhere you drag it, and Alt+arrow moves it without a mouse.
A preview of what you are typing:
Beside the fields, the preview shows the page at device width, including changes you have not saved yet, and jumps to the selected section. Nothing is saved to do so.
A new page from an existing one:
When you create a page, your recent pages are ready as cards, and one click makes a copy as a draft. New and copied pages start hidden from search engines, because two near-identical pages harm the whole domain.
What is missing sits at the top:
Above the sections you see empty required fields, a form that no longer exists in Kepler and withdrawn blocks, and each hint jumps to its spot. Empty required fields hold back publishing, even deep inside a section.
A place of its own:
The page builder has its own item in the sidebar, a new page's address follows its title, and published pages carry “View page”.
